our environmental award
in oruaiti we signed up for the prime minister awards we signed up for the most environmental school in north land. and we won how crazy is that so in our school we have many projects such as the ducks we have a little group in the morning to feed the ducks we also catch eels in our pond where the ducks are.
and in the morning the same group that feeds the ducks look around their enclosure to find duck eggs when we find them we put them in a glass of warm water to see if they float if they float they are rotten the we throw them away.
our other projects like our out door learning space we usually use the out door learning space to help us students get a better under standing of the subjects we are learning. we also have bee hives that were given to us from a local beekeeper named harlen we also have a small group that goes up to the bee hives with harlen to collect honey when we get the honey we jar it and sell it at the cable bay store.

my speech
Hi my name is Cooper, do you have a pet at home? and why are they important to you? I believe that pets are important parts of my life because they clean up after you, pets keep you fit, they can provide food for you, catch pests, give you joy and happiness and they can save your life.
Dogs they lick up your plate, they eat the rest of your food, especially Labradors. Cats all they do is sleep for the whole day and lick themselves all day long and also the best of all they want attention and you try to push them away they sssssss at you and scratch you. and they break valuables like that expensive vase that your nana gave to your mum last week and Have you noticed that it's gone? It was probably that demon of a cat that licks itself all day long.
But there are some ups about having a cat. They catch mice, rats, and birds but they also leave those animals everywhere as presents for you. Also dogs catch possums, stouts, weasels. I found out that 25 million birds are killed every year crazy right and they are all killed by introduced pests like possums, rats and weasels but you can help by getting a dog because did you know that 1000 pests are killed a year from dogs so you can help the environment by getting a dog
enough about that, let's get to the point shall we….if you get a pet you should get a dog they help you when you are in an emotional state like if you're sad they can cheer you up they give you joy when you had a bad day. for example, I have two dogs at home. They are super important to me because when I am sad or I am having a really bad day, I call them and they come straight to the rescue with some great big hugs and kisses. Who doesn't need that in their lives?
And imagine your life without your pets. I know that I will be emotional all the time. I will be absolutely miserable without my pets. You think about that for a second imagine your life without your pets you done. Alright
I have another reason if you have a disability well we know just the thing for you just get a dog we have people who train dogs for exactly that if your blind we have a dog for that we also have a dog for if you have seizures quite often then just get a dog they are smart and intelligent and if you get the right dog they’re fast to.
So that's why pets are important to my whanau and I hope you take care of your pets just like i do.
Thank you for listening to my speech

something candy can't replace
Cream as soft as cats fur going down your throat. Mountains of jam, thick and dark as the night sky. My mouth watering from looking at it. Torture just staring at it. when you pick up the golden brown object it crumbles to pieces. When you bite it, all you can hear is crunch crunch crunch! It smells like porridge heating in the microwave. Astonishing
Edmonds Scone recipe
INGREDIENTS
3 cups Edmonds standard flour
6 tsp Edmonds baking powder
¼ tsp salt
extra Meadow Fresh milk
75g butter
1 to 1½ cups Meadow Fresh milk, approximately
METHOD
Preheat the oven to 220ºC. Grease or flour a baking tray.
Sift the flour, baking powder and salt into a bowl. Rub in the butter with your fingertips until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
Add the milk and quickly mix with a round-bladed table knife to a soft dough. For light and tender scones the mixture should be quite soft and a little sticky. Scrape the dough onto the floured baking tray and flour the top.
Working quickly, pat the dough out to 2cm thickness and with a floured knife cut it into 12 even-sized pieces, then separate the scones to allow 2cm space between them. Brush the tops with milk.
Bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown. Place on a wire rack to cool, wrapped in a clean tea towel to keep them soft.
